Whipped Body Butter

  • Shea Butter - 2.5 oz

  • Mango Butter - 2.5 oz

  • Coconut Oil - 3.5 oz

  • Sweet Almond Oil - 1 cup

  • Arrowroot Powder - 1/8 cup optional


  1. Melt down Shea butter, coconut oil, and mango butter using a double boiler or by adding them to a heat safe bowl and placing that bowl over a pot of boiling water.

  2. Once melted, remove from heat and add sweet almond oil

  3. Let mixture harden in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours

  4. After the mixture is semi-hardened, begin to mix with hand-mixer on high setting for 10 minutes.

  5. Mid way through mixing, add arrowroot powder then continue mixing.

  6. Store your whipped body butter in an air tight jar.

Sweet almond oil can be substituted for another light oil. Arrowroot powder helps cut down the natural greasiness of the butters. If you do not have one of the butters, you can use the full 5 oz for either the mango or the Shea butter. Adding a harder butter to this recipe with result in a harder body butter.
